Today I got a piece of semi-spam at work. The hilarious part was this disclaimer at the bottom, especially the ominous first sentence.

Organizing mp3s
I'm thinking about once-and-for-all cleaning up all of my mp3s. The scope of the task:
- Half of my music is ripped from CDs. These are very well tagged and organized.
- And then there's the 6,700 "acuired" mp3s dating back to the days of original Napster. Most of these live in an "unsorted" directory, with horrible metadata, inconsistent naming, tons of duplicates, and the occasional poor quality rip. I would like to get these in shape.
Does anyone have any experience doing this, or have a recommendation for a good piece of software that can help automate the process?
